Twickenham Stadium Upgrade Programme: West Stand Refurbishment
Part of the Twickenham Stadium Upgrade Programme, the refurbishment of the stadium’s West Stand VIP hospitality spaces was undertaken in conjunction with several other projects in preparation for the 2015 Rugby World Cup.
The project comprising high quality refurbishment of the 400-seat Spirit of Rugby Restaurant, Members’ Bar, Council Room and Presidents’ Room to radically improve the customer experience in the top areas of the stadium. The project also created a new world-class media Press Conference Room and ‘Mixed Zone’ player interview facilities.
We were engaged as Project Managers leading the design and construction teams for this project, providing the full range of project management duties from design inception through to handover and operation.
The requirement for delivery of the project around existing Stadium events without disruption to these necessitated careful phasing and programming with the considerations of working within the live environment of an operating stadium.
The role required the extensive and robust stakeholder management procedures to ensure the new spaces were designed and delivered to meet the needs of all project stakeholders and users, without disrupting their daily operations.
The project was successfully delivered in conjunction with many others as part of the stadium upgrade programme in time for the World Cup
