3PM were appointed in July 2016 to provide Project Management services on this phased refurbishment and relocation project for Ascential, a media, events and publishing company listed on the London Stock Exchange.

The project scope was to design and deliver the phased refurbishment of office space in Paddington to facilitate the client’s strategic business transformation, which saw two separate business streams consolidate to the space. This involved the relocation of Ascential’s highest performing business, Lions Festivals, from their West London office into the refurbished space at Paddington. The project had an absolute deadline of full occupation on 3rd January 2017, to suit the seasonal nature of the business’ operations and headcount.

The stakeholder engagement process during the briefing and design phase, led by 3PM, was systematic and thorough to ensure no key requirements for the new space were overlooked. Space requirements for the two separate businesses including meeting requirements and specific, non-standard working practices, were captured and successfully translated into a high quality space that fulfilled the brief for the newly combined business streams.

3PM carried out detailed planning sessions involving client stakeholders, to map out the decant and relocation processes. The first phase internal move was completed over one weekend – including full stripout of a floor and the repopulation of the completed floor – with no disruption or downtime for the teams being relocated.
