Rugby Football Union
Elite Training Facility, Pennyhill Park
The vision
The RFU have identified that the existing training facilities at Penny Hill Park did not met the performance requirements for the England team in preparation for the 2015 Rugby World Cup 2015.
The initial Requirements for a new build facility were set out in a design brief – Centre for Athletic Development (CAD) by Dr Matt Parker Head of Athletic Performance.
The Works was meant to provide an indoor 3G training space with associated Gym, changing room and associated training facility storage and external running track all to be constructed on land leased from Penny Hill.
The Head of Athletic Performance has provided an outline brief that identifies the key priorities for the training facility. These facilities include; a strength and conditioning facility and an indoor flexible 3G IRB compliant pitch.
Our Role
We were appointed as Project Manager for this fast tracked scheme to provide training facilities at Penny Hill Park suitable to meet the requirements of the England Senior Team as part of their preparations for the for the 2015 Rugby World Cup.
